Scientific Focus Areas
Has a general scientific methodological profile that combines environmental science and applied mathematics. This includes both deterministic-, statistical modelling and multi-criterion methods for risk assessment and environmental indicators, having high priority to uncertainty analysis and quality assurance of scientific predictions for decision support. Covers many different aspects of modelling, in recent years, a focus have been on ecological effects and contamination of pesticides and terrestrial ecosystems. This also include application of new technology such as UAS (Unmanned Air Systems, also called drones) to support novel data gathering methods of field observation data.

Workpackage leader of the project: STEP (Status and Trends of European Pollinators), EU, FP7.
Research pillar leader of the project: EU IP project NoMiracle, that was focussing on new methods for cumulative risk assessment of humans and environment due to the use of Chemical Substances.
Contribution to: EU FP6 project, HAIR (Harmonised environmental Indicators for pesticide Risk) and EU IP FP6 project ALARM (Assessing Large Scale risks for biodiversity with tested methods).
Leader of the project: Environmental Protection Agency's Arctic program: Persistent organic Contaminants in the Greenland environment, 2002-2004.
Contribution to the project: Environmental Protection Agency's Arctic program (Nye og opdaterede tidstrends af svært nedbrydelige organiske stoffer og deres effekter i vandrefalkæg fra Grønland ), 2014-2015.
